Synopsis
Luke LeBlanc, the son of a prominent senator, thought he had it all. But when Rose Mercer, the love of his life, left him just months before a walk down the aisle, he was shattered. He lost her after a disastrous night at a bar when he nearly destroyed his reputation and his family’s, and he convinced himself that he was better off without her.
When Rose shows up on his doorstep in the middle of the night four years later, however, he realizes he still aches for her. But Rose is carrying several secrets that have the potential to rock Luke’s world. Will she be able to win his trust back, and his heart along with it?
My Review: 3 stars
They break up and four years later she pitches up on his doorstep “looking for help” and they just happen to continue where they left off. How do you do that? The question I have in my mind is how could she just expect him to forgive her?
This is a debut novel by Bella Scott and I enjoyed the story, but I felt like it could’ve had a little more angst & anger. She LEAVES him. Then comes back and expects him to take her back!!!!! She seduces him, which makes him loose track of why he is angry.
I was not a fan of Rose, in this novel. She’s not my kind of girl. I felt more sympathy for Luke and Alex. Rose, seems like she runs when the going gets tough and things don’t go her way.
