Book Review: THAT SWOONY FEELING by Meghan Quinn

NOW AVAILABLE

USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn brings more humor and heart with the fourth novel of her Getting Lucky series: a story about breaking curses and finally finding that swoony feeling.

I’m single . . . so single it’s painful.

Yup, ladies, Brig Knightly–that’s me–is still a lonely bachelor, stumbling through the streets of Port Snow, looking for the girl he’s supposed to end up with.

That is until my brother, Rogan, presents me with the opportunity of a lifetime. The Summer of Love, a secret pen pal program in Port Snow is looking for applicants and I’m the perfect fit.

I couldn’t sign up fast enough.

I found myself quickly falling in love with a pair of red lips at the bottom of a letter. Just like in the movies . . .

Life could not have been better, that was until I started hanging out with Ruth Barber. Starting a new business right next to my shop, I found myself gravitating toward her. Her smile, her humor . . . her tea sandwiches.

My attraction for Ruth came in full force, leaving me dazed, confused, and *ahem* excited.

As new feelings for two women come to a screeching halt, I have to figure out who to choose. But when I discover my pen pal is Ruth, it might be too late.

All I want in life is to experience that swoony feeling . . . but I think I might have just missed my chance.

This was the sweetest love story I ever did read this year!!!!!!!!!!

It really had me swooning.

Gosh, Brig is a moron, but an adorable one, so he is forgiven.

And who knew that the shy girl behind the counter serving coffee, had such a sassy mouth!

These two are adorable. Funny, easy to read and if you’re a softy like me, you’ll be in tears (HAPPY TEARS).

It’s a truly romantic story!!!!!!!!!!

Admittedly, I’m an a**hole. Okay, that might give you an unfair opinion of me if taken out of context. So let me explain myself.

Every guy knows the Bro Code. It’s kind of a package deal with the thing swinging between our legs. You can’t have one without the other. And the highest of all the Bro Codemmandments is do not—under any circumstances—have sexual thoughts about your best friend’s sister. And no, there is not an amendment clause for when she’s beautiful, smart, witty, and can kiss you breathless in under three point five seconds—yes, I counted. I’ve asked around the Brommunity and apparently that rule is deemed unbreakable. Which brings me back to my first point—I’m an a**hole.

In my defense, I didn’t know she was his little sister when she moved into the apartment next door. I also didn’t know when she was ripping my shirt off in her living room—don’t get the wrong idea, she just wanted to wash it. And I definitely didn’t know when aforementioned kiss had me stumbling over my words, her tongue, and my own two feet. But that’s as far as it went—and will go! I swear. From this point forward, we are just Good Neighbors.

Book Review: SWIPE TO LOVE by Angelique Bosman

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

What is worse than having your mother set you up on a blind date? I’ll tell you, crushing on Aiden Lang.

The new office hunk, who has every girl’s attention even my best friend Amy’s. She took one look at him and was convinced that he’s her soulmate. Fate wasn’t playing fair when our boss had Aiden and myself working on the same project, having meeting after meeting together. The one day I tripped over my heels right into his hard chest. Amy was my only reminder that I didn’t have any claim to Aiden like she did. Becoming a bad friend for a good time just wasn’t in me. Determined to forget my best friend’s crush I jumped head first back into online dating. Though destiny wasn’t done with me yet.

Betray my best friend or take the risk on someone new? The thing about dating on the internet is you never truly know who’s behind the screens.

My Review:

Witty, fun, misunderstandings and love.

This book is witty and is a story based on mismatched couples and finding your true love.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was an easy and quick read.

I loved that we got the point of view of almost all the characters. We got to see what each character was feeling and what went through their minds when doing the silly things they did.

It’s a good clean soft love story of two people who are afraid of going after the one they actually want, so they make stupid decisions because that’s what you do when you’re inlove, you make stupid decisions. Each chapter starts with a quote on love, which is really sweet. Each chapter is dedicated to a character. An interesting plot twist in chapter ten, had me re-reading chapter nine to make sure I wasn’t reading wrong.

Loved the characters of Aiden and Jade obviously, they’re the stars of the book. Agatha had me in stitches. Couldn’t stand Amy. I liked Jack until a certain point, when he just seemed shallow. But I loved the book.

Swipe To Love releases on 22 June 2020. If you’re into soft, sweet, clean romance novels, then this is the book for you.
